Ralph E. Reed, Jr. is a Republican American political activist, best known as the first executive director of the Christian Coalition during the early 1990s. He is also the founder and president of Century Strategies.

After receiving his Ph.D in American History in 1989, Reed was hired by religious broadcaster Pat Robertson as the first executive director of the Christian Coalition, a role he served in from 1989 to 1997, achieving national prominence which included an appearance on the cover of “Time magazine.” He resigned and moved to Georgia after federal prosecutors began investigating allegations by the Christian Coalition’s chief financial officer, Judy Liebert. In late 1997, Reed joined the campaign of Fulton County Commission Chairman Mitch Skandalakis for Lieutenant Governor of Georgia, becoming its General Consultant. While running the Skandalakis campaign in 1997, Reed founded Century Strategies, a political consulting firm, which represents Enron, Microsoft and Channel One News, among others.
