Martin Scorsese is an Academy Award-winning American film director. He won the Academy Award for Best Director for his film “The Departed” in 2007, which also won the Academy Award for Best Picture. He was previously nominated for Best Director five times.

Scorsese’s prolific body of work includes iconic movies such as “Taxi Driver,” “Raging Bull,” Cape Fear,” “Casino” and “Gangs of New York.” In 1999 Scorsese produced a documentary on Italian filmmakers entitled “Il Mio Viaggio in Italia,” also known as “My Voyage to Italy.”
