Robert Herbold is an American software executive. During his eight years as COO of Microsoft, Robert Herbold’s disciplined approach to streamlining operations drove a seven-fold increase in profits while the company’s revenues increased four-fold. Herbold also spent twenty-six years at Procter & Gamble, where he held several senior executive positions and revolutionized product distribution.
Herbold is the founder of the Herbold Group, LLC, a consulting business focused on strategy and profitability issues, with deep expertise in operations and marketing. He serves on the board of several major corporations and was appointed by President Bush to the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology; currently chairs the Education Subcommittee. He is also the author of “The Fiefdom Syndrome: The Turf Battles That Undermine Careers and Companies-And How to Overcome Them”.
