Michael Francis Moore is an American film director, author and political activist. He is known for his outspoken, critical views on globalization, large corporations, gun violence, the Iraq War, the United States, and President George W. Bush. His documentaries include “Roger & Me”, “Bowling for Columbine”, and “Fahrenheit 9/11”.

Moore’s documentaries have won numerous awards, including and Academy Award for Documentary Feature, and the Palme d’Or, the top honor at the Cannes Film Festival. His television series was “The Awful Truth”, which satirized actions by big corporations and politicians. He won the Hugh M. Hefner First Amendment Award in Arts and Entertainment, for being the executive producer and host of “The Awful Truth”.

Moore has also directed several music videos, including two for Rage Against the Machine for songs from “The Battle of Los Angeles”: “Sleep Now in the Fire” and “Testify”. His best-selling books include “Downsize This!”, “Stupid White Men”, “and Dude Where’s My Country”.
