Judea Pearl is a computer scientist and statistician, best known for his prominent work on the probabilistic approach to artificial intelligence, and in particular on Bayesian networks (see the article on belief propagation). Pearl is President of The Daniel Pearl Foundation, formed in memory of his son, journalist Daniel Pearl.
