Billy Crudup is an acclaimed film and theater actor. He began his acting career on stage but was soon awarded a film role in the indie “Grind” (1997). In 1996, he started playing small roles in bigger films, beginning with “Sleepers” (1996), and soon moved on to lead and supporting roles in “Inventing the Abbott?s” (1997), Woody Allen’s “Everyone Says I Love You” (1996), “Without Limits” (1998), “Princess Mononoke” (1999), “Almost Famous” (2000) and “The Good Shepherd” (2006).

Despite increased movie success, Crudup never abandoned the stage, acting in the off-Broadway revival of “Bus Stop” and the off-Broadway “Oedipus” (with Frances McDormand). He received Tony Award nominations for his roles in the Broadway plays “The Elephant Man” and “The Pillowman.” He is currently starring in the first two parts of Tom Stoppard?s “The Coast of Utopia” at Lincoln Center.
