Helen Mirren won the 2007 Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in "The Queen", which chronicled the British royal family's response to the death of Princess Diana. In this segment, she is also joined by the film's director, Stephen Frears, who was nominated for Best Director for his work on the film.

Clint Eastwood was nominated for Best Director for "Letters from Iwo Jima", one of the two films he released in 2006 chronicling the Second World War. He discusses his ambitions in undertaking the two picture project, which also includes the film "Flags of our Fathers" and his motivations for telling the story of the great war from the Japanese perspective in "Letters from Iwo Jima".

In December 2006, Charlie hosted a roundtable with three of Mexico's top filmmakers, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Guillermo del Toro and Alfonso Cuaron (pictured). Inarritu was nominated for Best Director for his film "Babel", while del Toro's "Pan's Labyrinth" was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, among other awards. Alfonso Cuaron was nominated in two categories for his film, "Children of Men", adapted screenplay and film editing.

Kate Winslet joined Charlie to discuss her role in "Little Children" as a discontented wife and mother whose affair with a neighbor wreaks havoc on both families. This part earned Winslet a nomination for Best Actress.

Cate Blanchett discusses her portrayal of a teacher conducting an illicit affair with an underage student in the film "Notes on A Scandal", which earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
